Description
- S9: The Burgomaster of Vallaki and a generational ruler whose family has held the position for many years. He is enthusiastic and well-meaning but of questionable leadership ability. He is staunchly opposed to Strahd, whom he calls ‘the devil,’ and believes that mandatory happiness and frequent festivals will protect the town from Strahd’s influence. He punishes ‘malicious unhappiness’ and has placed a bounty on the monster hunter Rudolph van Richten.
- S10: The stern ruler of Vallaki who led the Festival of the Blazing Sun procession on horseback. He ordered the arrest and cruel punishment of a guard named Lars simply for laughing at his failed ritual, demonstrating his petty cruelty. His intent is described as good but his decisions are repeatedly poor.
