  • Chrystyandar Caffrey describes his history as a human wizard with a criminal background, mentioning his past with a wealthy woman named Darla and a grudge-holding magistrate named Vera Styx.

Personality Traits Likes to live a comfortable lifestyle. Sees money as a way to live life on his own terms. Easy to get along with, though if you irritate him… Magic is a dangerous, powerful tool and meant to be used with precision. You’re quick to improvise when things go sideways. Doesn’t always make the wisest choices but manages to overcome bad decisions…thus far. Ideals Would like to become a more powerful wizard to be able to fight for freedom (especially mine) from overwhelming forces. Believes he is fighting the best fight. A belief in fairness but learning that the law and justice aren’t always the same thing. Bonds My contacts and friends who I’ve had a long, good working relationship. Alchemy shops evoke feelings of comfort and home and curiosity. My most treasured possessions are my spark of connection to the arcane and my freedom. Flaws Wishing I were a more charismatic person. Occasionally, maybe, making some better choices. Maybe an emotional blind spot or 2. Perhaps a bit of reckless curiosity. Organizations There was this one organization that I got involved with because my girlfriend at the time was into it (Yep! That girlfriend-see enemies). It had something to do with ancients or old ones, maybe fire or something like that; I remember incense and… OH! WAIT!! Maybe it was a family religious thing about their ancestors. Whatever. I was always distracted by the…ummm…scenery. Overall, I’m not a big “organization” kind of guy. They’re great for other people…to keep them busy, and if they are my organizations…though I’d probably get tired of my organization and let someone else have it anyway. I don’t know, maybe I’ll change my mind on this when I grow up. Allies An alchemist, Erl (Erlinmeyer), that was a friend of the family from way back. I thought he was old when I was a child. Even after my parents passed, we still maintained a friendship. He often treated me as a favored nephew and then took me in after my parents passed. He did have this really cool (and I think magical) flask! Randal “Rook” Haversham, a silver‑tongued fence with a talent for acquiring and moving on “misplaced” items, who I’ve often done business with…in the past (in deference to my friend of the paladinish persuasion). Enemies An ex-girlfriend (Darla) who did not take the separation so well. Probably because she didn’t initiate it. Smoking hot but she was kind of a bitch looking back on things. Just because her family had money, she seemed to feel she could treat people any way she wanted (including me). Good thing she and her family moved away. I sometimes wonder what happened to her… A magistrate, Vera Styx, who owned these big, ugly dogs. They always smelled bad and always had blood on their teeth. I swear they were the hounds of hell. The magistrate never found me charming and was positive I took something from her place once upon a time (and I think she knew Darla’s parents). She swore she’d make sure I went to prison forever if I ever found myself before her in court. Thankfully, it was never her I was brought before! Then there was also that explosion on her dock, which I swear was not my fault! Backstory Five Life-changing events:

  1. Sudden death of both parents in a house fire. Bodies incinerated. No explanation as to what caused the fire nor how it got so hot.
  2. Being taken in by Erl after my parents’ death and being taught that magic was a craft and a talent that needed to be developed.
  3. Being wrongly accused by and hounded by the Magistrate.
  4. Caught by Leoberos…twice; and served a little bit of jail time. I never took it personally and kind of liked his style. (It also made me improve myself)
